On July 18, 2012, California-based confectioner See’s Candies broke the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Lollipop. They attacked the record with their nearly 6-feet tall (excluding the giant stick), 7,003 pound chocolate pop. That’s a big lolly. See’s Candies brought the giant candy to Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco on July 20th to celebrate National Lollipop Day – and to receive their Guinness certificate. That’s a few cavities waiting to happen.

Artist and candy enthusiast Willy Wonka Hifijohn does amazing things with simple tools and some Jawbreakers. He takes a weapons grade Jawbreaker, extreme patience, a steady hand, and some simple tools to turn it into a shot glass. Using a simple lathe to works his way through many colorful candy layers, the end result is very colorful shot glass. Check out the video below.
Illustrator Kristen Cumings was hired by Jelly Belly to produce several works of art to add to their collection entitled Jelly Belly Masterpieces of Confectionary Art. She chose to reproduce some classic works of art. It takes 50-60 hours to complete the life-size paintings made of approximately 9,000 to 12,000 jelly beans each. The gigantic 4 foot x 6 foot murals recreate a classic work of art, including Vincent can Gogh’s The Starry Night to Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. Continue reading
