Proof that the Hoff isn’t just uber-popular in Germany. Actor David Hasselhoff posed for a photo that’s been blown up life-size to advertise iced coffee for the Cumberland Farms branded convenience stores. So popular is the Hoff that 550 of the 570 posted have been stolen in the course of several weeks. That’s a rabid fan base.
Cumberland brand strategy specialist Kate Ngo says only about 20 remain for the roughly 570 stores in New England and Florida. Ngo says Cumberland is flattered by the attention its ads featuring “the Hoff” are drawing. She’s asking anyone with a Hasselhoff to keep it safe. Popular and forgiving. We’re giving Cumby’s (as it’s affectionately known in New England) a thumbs up for good PR work here.
