OK, so let’s be clear, this only applies to a single KFC, in Oregon. A former manager at said KFC alleges that the owner of his franchise not only ordered employees to serve expired chicken, but also fired employees who refused to do so.
According to the lawsuit, KFC receives boxed shipments of fresh – not frozen – chicken. The boxes indicate a “kill date” of when the birds were slaughtered and processed. This acts like a sell by date for the chain. Employees are instructed to not serve chicken 12 days past the “kill date.” Continue reading
